ACOG Weighs in on the Benefits of Continuous Labor Support

“Published data indicate that one of the most effective tools to improve labor and delivery outcomes is the continuous presence of support personnel, such as a doula. Given that there are no associated measurable harms, this resource is probably underutilized.”

As your Doula,

I do NOT...

Perform Clinical Tasks
-It is outside a doula's scope of practice to perform vaginal check or any other clinical task.

Make Decisions For You

-I am there to support you in whatever route your birth journey takes. It is wise to seek birth education classes and read many materials in order to make Make Decisions for You
informed choice.

Speak For You
-A doula should only make comment to the staff on wishes you have already verbalized. As a Doula, I do not project my own Speak to staff on your behalf or project my own beliefs into your birth experience.

Girls in a Coffee Shop

Not sure if a doula is right for you?

Chatting over a warm coffee is a great opportunity to see if we would be a good match for each other.

Everyone deserves a doula, but not every doula is for you.
